Greensboro engagement photography: Megan and Eric

The weather was a little cool this morning, but we braved it in downtown Greensboro. Megan and Eric were fun to work with and even willing to scale buildings for me! I'm looking forward to their wedding in Kentucky next year.

Greensboro wedding photography: Kisha and Montrale

Ahhh... A beautiful fall day in Greensboro, NC. Finch chapel at Greensboro College was beautiful, the reception at Revolution Mills Studios was gorgeous, and of course the stunning couple! When I find out who did the catering I will let you know. It was amazing! I had a wonderful time with you guys, your friends, and your family. Here is a small sneak peak of the day.

Downtown Greensboro Engagement Session

Kisha and Montrale hired me to photograph their wedding in October, so we got to know each other a little bit at an engagement session in downtown Greensboro. They love each other and love having fun, so I'm expecting everyone to have a blast at the wedding!

Hanging Rock

I just recently got some of the new Radiopopper remote triggers and wanted to test them out. Our family camping trip to Hanging Rock seemed like as good a place as any. I love my cute little models, and I'm lucky that they usually don't mind working for free :)

Tampa wedding photography: Kara and Jordan

I flew down to Tampa to join Kara and Jordan for their big day! I truly had the best time all the way from the rehearsal through the reception. Two incredible families that should be very proud. OK, you're here for the pictures, I get it.

Textures - Greensboro Children's Portraits

I have never done much with textures before, but I recently came across some free ones online so I thought I would try them out. I decided since I had just taken some 4th of July pictures to use one of them for the test.

To add a texture, open your image in photoshop, then open the texture. Drag the texture onto your image and it will create a new layer with the texture. Change this new layer with the texture from "normal" to "multiply". For this image, I lowered the opacity down to about 70%. Then add a layer mask to hide the texture anywhere that you don't want it to show (like on the subject).

Photography Seminar Week 3 - Winston Salem (And my new lens!)

This week we went to downtown Winston Salem. I just got my new lens on Thursday and couldn't wait to try it out! (The Canon 70-200 2.8 IS L, for those of you who want to know) We got really lucky because the owner of the Millenium Center happened to pull up as we were standing right outside and gave us permission to shoot inside! Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Photography Seminar Week 1 - Hanging Rock State Park

Over the next four weeks I will be doing a seminar focusing on location shooting, so I thought I would post my homework here. We went to Hanging Rock State Park to photograph a few models. Cool little waterfall that I hadn't been to before. We had great weather and it was good to meet some new photographers from the area.

Little Buddy

I found jpeg snapshot of my son that I took a few days ago and decided to try some of my new Photoshop actions on it. I thought it turned out pretty well all considering, so I'll post it :)

Fun in the Field - High Point Family Portraits

I spotted a little field with yellow flowers the other day and decided I wanted to take some pictures there. Luckily, the next day some of our friends asked to get some pictures taken, so here are some of the results.
